The Exchange (properly known as the
Saskatchewan Cultural Exchange Society or SCES) is turning 30 in 2007.
Originally run as a Member's Club (forever called 'The Club') on Broad
Street (Regina, SK), the original location burnt down in the early 90's.
Rising from the ashes came the location at 2431 8th Avenue. The Exchange
Complex houses two performance venues, the larger 300-seat 'Exchange'
and the more intimate 'Club'. The Exchange venue has hosted thousands of
exciting events, but has always maintained a focus on supporting local
community and culture. The Club venue provides many smaller-acts a
comfortable (and low-cost) space to showcase their talents. The Club
also supports up-and-coming visual Artists with month long Art
exhibitions. Also in the Exchange Complex is the SCES offices, which
runs an annual Fiddle Camp in rural Saskatchewan, Artist-in-Classroom
tours throughout rural Saskatchewan, and is the founding body of
'Saskatchewan Festivals and Events', an organization which helps fund
over 30 festivals in the Province.

The Club is a social space attached to our
larger performance centre (the Exchange). The Club is a smaller, more
intimate venue that features events nearly every night! Regular events
include Metal Monday (now featuring Guitar Hero!), Movie Tuesdays and
Pool League Wednesdays. The Club is a highly utilized performance venue,
ideal for up-and-coming musicians, singer/songwriters and acoustic
performances. The Club is setup with a video projector, karaoke machine,
simple PA sound system, upright Piano, small staging, cable TV, theatre
seating and more...
The Club also hosts monthly art exhibitions by Saskatchewan Artists. The
shows are nonjuried and are a tremendous opportunity for emerging
artists to present their work publicly. The Club offers special SCES
Member drink prices (a club needs members).
