Hectik
Theatre is committed to providing audiences with innovative, edgy, and
thought-provoking theatre in a way that demonstrates our vision of
challenging both ourselves as artists and our audience to create a
demand for new and interesting theatrical opportunities.
Our goals are to: create opportunities for local artists to showcase
their talents; expand the local independent theatre scene; and raise
audience expectations of what theatre can be. We, as a group of
established community performers and artists, are looking for an outlet
for our skills and a chance to improve upon them.
We use various venues, exploring what the city has to offer different
types of performances.
Our season consists of three "main stage shows" - The Adventure of Ali &
Ali and the aXes of Evil (November), One Good Marriage (February), The
Pillowman (May/June); two installments of Caught in the Act (December
and April), our whirlwind fundraiser of short comdies prepared in one
day, with an appetizer buffet, live music, and a silent auction; Sonnets
& Sweets (February, Actors deviler Shakespeare's Sonnets, sweets, and a
rose for Valentine's Day); Long Sleepless Night, a 24-Improv show (March);theatre/performance
workshops (May Long Weekend); and, along with Uberkill Sketch Comedy,
Combat Improv night the first Wednesday of each Month (The Manhatten
Room)
