We believe art is for everyone. With diverse exhibitions, programs and a permanent collection, we seek to reach as many people as possible and motivate them to return.

Exhibitions are selected based on their relevance to today's world or to a significant point in art history and are always designed to get people talking! They often include lectures, films and workshops, as well as discussions with visiting artists, curators and scholars. Since 1970, MacKenzie Outreach has criss-crossed the province to bring exhibitions, educational programs and artists to hundreds of communities that do not have art galleries.

We collect a wide range art from Saskatchewan, a representative sampling from Western Canada, as well as selected national and international works.

The MacKenzie is also a major centre for research and study.

Over the past 30 years, we have chronicled 5,000 artists from all over the world, but it is our extensive research on Saskatchewan art that the National Gallery of Canada considers a major national resource. Our permanent collection includes hundreds of works by local artists, historical and contemporary.

Enjoy!
